Advanced AC training class with focus on the impact of new components and chemicals. The change of refrigerant has changed the way we look at AC systems as well as how it should be diagnosed. The AC systems must perform better smaller components as well as increased complexity to make them as efficient as possible. This all leads up to the new Heat Pump systems on Electric Vehicles. The new components that we see in the normal AC systems are crucial in a Heat Pump system to make it operate efficiently. Best practices are changing nd if you do not change with it, it will cause massive failures in the AC/ Heat Pump system and cost the workshop a lot of money in warranty repairs.
- Diagnostics through pressure/ temperature ratio to make a more accurate diagnose.
- Trouble shooting on Electronic Controlled Valve compressor
- How to diagnose a micro-macro parallel condenser with the use of temperature and heat transfer measurements
- Complex run-though of pressure settings and readings.
- Can I trust the pressure reading on my AC machine if it is a Variable displacement compressor system?
- How does the new electronic expansion valves work and how do you test them?
- What is the benefit of an IHX (Internal Heat Exchanger) compared to an older AC system without?
- Diagnosis of oil and how to check contamination. How to service an AC system with a new refrigerant such as R1234yf, R456A, etc.
- Does the products on an R134a system work with the new refrigerants?
- Will you keep the warranty if you use a new refrigerant on a R134a component?
- Groundbreaking new flushing procedure without removing any components from the AC system.
- Full flush and oil drain.
- FIRST TIME IN THE US Groundbreaking new method to replace ALL the oil without removing any components. FIRST TIME IN THE US.

Now days it seems all the focus is all about fuel economy, future technology, the new and improved ways to drive our vehicle forward, and the environmental impacts. These are all great topics and very important to the automotive industry today. Let’s not forget though, something has to still bring all these great leaps forward to a stop. Gone are also the days of the hydraulicly operated steering racks. Today’s modern cars are switching to the electrically assisted steering systems and the wonderful advantages it offers compared to the vehicles of old. With all the modern safety and driver assist functions integrated it today’s vehicles, electronic steering is playing a major role. In this class we will examine the electronic braking & steering systems in todays modern vehicles and what the future holds for tomorrow’s technicians. Time: 8 Hours After completing this training, the participant will be able to:
• Describe the power steering system operations.
• Cover the advantages of EPS vs hydraulic steering systems.
• Explain common issues associated with EPS systems and diagnostics.
• Describe how EPS relates to other vehicle systems.
• Describe braking technology.
• Diagnose ABS errors.
• Identify noise issues.
• Explain electrical park brake systems.
• Describe proper mechanical release of electrical brake system.
• Describe collaboration between brakes and diver assist function.
• Diagnose brake systems and errors.
• List braking components and their functions.
• Explain assistance-based emergency braking.
• Describe common brake pads installation errors.
• Identify causes for premature damage.
• Understanding the consequences of a worn-out rotor.
Steering and Suspension (In-Person)

Location: 4105 Royal Dr NW suite 600, Kennesaw, GA 30144
4 Hour Course 8:00AM - 12:00PM (EST)
Steering and Suspension – Course Description
Maybe you have asked yourself, why does this car have so many control arms on it? Or, why does this European vehicle ride and handle so much differently than US domestic vehicles? As with many automotive systems, the steering and suspension systems on vehicles are constantly evolving. European automakers have been at the forefront of automotive technology, including the evolution of steering and suspension. For technicians, having a proper understanding of how these systems have changed and how they operate is critical in being able to properly diagnose modern vehicles.
This steering and suspension course, hosted by MEYLE, will be great for both beginner and intermediate technicians!
This course will cover technologies in both steering and suspension to give technicians a better understanding of common failures, diagnostics, tips and tricks, and best practices for repair.
- The participant can expect to learn:
- Advantages of Four Link Suspension systems
- Effects of “bump steer” on alignment
- Best practices for checking suspension systems
- Proper installation techniques
- Modern suspension technologies that improve ride quality and safety
- How Electric Power Steering works, and how it is similar to hydraulic steering systems
- Tips on when to replace electric rack and pinions and how they interact with other automotive systems
